Villa Palmeiras, Parque da Floresta Golf & Leisure Resort, West Algarve

Location:- This outstanding luxury villa overlooks the 12th. fairway of the prestigious Parque da Floresta Golf & Leisure Resort. The resort is near the village of Budens and borders the nature reserve of Costa Vincentina. The scenic west coast of Portugal with its stunning rugged scenery is a short drive away and has some of the best beaches in the world with spectacular scenery and a variety of birds and flora.

The nearest beaches to the resort are Boca do Rio, beautiful but with no facilities and Salema, 5 minutes drive away, which is busy in the summer but boasts a safe, sandy beach with plenty of beach bars and restaurants.

The tourist town of Lagos, with its bustling Marina, many souvenir shops, bars & restaurants is 10 Kms away. Why not take a trip on the Dolphin Seafari on the rib boat, ( as used by the Navy and Greenpeace) from Lagos Marina or explore the caves around the coast on the "Bom Dia" , stopping off for a barbecue at one of the many secluded beaches. ( These trips can be booked in advance )

The villa has been designed to take advantage of the sun at all times of the day, with extensive terraces and lawned areas in the large private garden. Built on two levels the first floor is given over to the living / dining room, study, kitchen and master bedroom with en-suite bathroom while on the ground floor there are three further bedrooms, two bathrooms, (one en-suite) and a small kitchenette designed for easier outdoor eating.

The Living/ Dining room:- is tastefully furnished with good quality furniture, comfortable leather sofas and a dining table and chairs for eight people. There are two sets of patio doors leading out onto the upper terrace which overlooks the pool and garden. An electric canopy provides shade over part of the terrace.
There is digital satellite television with "free to air" channels, a DVD, CD and stereo music centre for the entertainment of guests. A log burner provides heat for winter lets

The Kitchen:- is fully fitted with modern units, well stocked with cooking utensils, glasses and crockery, with a hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, table and chairs. Leading from the kitchen is the utility room wherein there is a washing machine and another fridge freezer.

The Study :- is an alternative room to the living room. It is comfortably furnished, has air conditioning and is well stocked with books to suit all tastes plus a television, thus providing a choice of programme, ( for younger members of the family ?). There is also a Wi Fi internet connection available for guests to use with their Laptops.

The Bedrooms:

The master bedroom suite, which leads off the entrance hall, has its own bathroom, with jacuzzi bath. It has air conditioning and is furnished with a super king size sleigh bed. There is ample wardrobe space and the bedroom has patio doors which lead out onto the upper terrace.

There are three further bedrooms on the ground floor of which two have air conditioning. The first guest bedroom is furnished with a king size double bed and has an en-suite shower room. The other two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two singles share a full bathroom. All three bedrooms have mirrored wardrobes and patio doors which open out onto the sun terrace and the swimming pool

The Garden and Pool :

The garden at Casa Palmeira has been planned and tended with loving care by the original owners and is filled with a wide variety of flowers, mature trees and lawned areas, ideal for relaxation and for children to play in complete safety. The large rectangular pool is heated (at no extra cost) during the cooler months. The barbecue area, with a gas barbecue is adjacent to the pool and terrace and the handy downstairs kitchenette is fully equipped with a small fridge, sink, electrical rings and all the crockery, cutlery and glasses needed for outside dining on warm summer evenings. Sun loungers, umbrellas, table and chairs are all provided for our guests.

Other Information

All linen and towels are provided, including pool towels.
Maid service twice a week with a towel change and a mid term clean and linen change for two weekly lets is included in the rental price.

The villa has a small safe for the convenience of guests.

As the villa has stairs both inside and outside it is not suitable for persons with mobility problems.

A car is advisable.

The Resort and Local Amenities

Parque da Floresta has many other attractions besides the 18 hole championship golf course, for which guests staying at the villa are entitled to a concessionary 40% discount on the green fees. There are two bowling greens, four tennis courts, an outdoor heated pool, childrens' pool and gymnasium also available, all at local cost.

Tennis: A resident coach will give group or individual tennis lessons and there is a hotly contested weekly competition for different age groups of children.

The Childrens Fun club, has supervised activities for all ages and is available to the children of guests during the summer and daily or weekly tickets can be bought.

The Spa offers a wide variety of Health and Beauty treatments for those who fancy a spot of pampering, including half day or whole day packages if you really want to push the boat out and have a top to toe treatment.

Restaurants:- there are several restaurants on the resort providing a variety of choice, from Á La Carte to snacks at the Spike Bar, plus the Italian restaurant has a "takeaway" option. There are also several good restaurants in the village of Budens, a 2 minute car ride away.

Horse Riding is available at the nearby Tiffany's Riding stable near the village of Almadena where they cater for all levels of ability.

Supermarkets and Petrol Stations:- There is a modern supermarket and petrol station, (Ecomarché) in the nearby village of Budens, and fresh bread is available there every morning. Both the supermarket and the petrol station are open seven days a week until late. Several larger supermarkets can be found in Lagos.

Getting There

The nearest international airport is Faro and flights arrive from most British airports every day during the summer. Hire cars can be collected outside the airport building and the journey from Faro to Parque da Floresta takes 45 minutes along the A22 motorway to Lagos and from there on the EN 125 to the resort.

Rental Prices and Booking : - Prices are per week and are shown in sterling

We accept credit cards via PayPal, cheques or direct bank transfers.

Please telephone or email to confirm availability. Change over days are flexible and we will always try to fit in with guests requirements. A non refundable deposit of 20% is required to confirm a booking and the balance becomes due 8 weeks prior to the beginning of the holiday.
